The pay circular has been issued and pay should be uplifted from 1 April 2010. There are additional changes to Band 1 and 5. Please contact a local steward if you need advice.

UNISON Welfare Sponsored Walk/ Family Fun Day

The Scottish Welfare Committee are once again having a sponsored walk to raise much needed funds for Unison Welfare's Bucket & Spade appeal, that assists in sending families with young children on much needed breaks in times of hardships through different circumstances. Distance of 5 miles walk has been suggested.

Our Branch has taken part before, but this year being the Centenary year, they have decided to make it more Family/Children orientated. Bouncy castles, face painting and other activities will take place for children as well as the sponsored walk for adults.

The event will take place at Pittencrieff Park Dunfermline on Sunday 30th May. Bring your Children, Grandchildren, Neices and Nephews along.

St Andrew’s Day March against Racism

STUC organised St Andrew’s Day March against Racism. This will take place on November 28 2009, assembling at St Andrew’s in the Square, (Off Saltmarket), Glasgow at 10.30am, Marching off at 11.00am for a rally in the GFT at 12 noon. The rally will be chaired by our own Sofi Taylor, and will feature speeches from Vaughan Gethling - President of the Wales TUC, speakers from GARA and Hope not hate Scotland and others.
